What's Your Number?

It’s all over the news the 2 biggest New Year’s resolutions this year are:

1.    Save money
2.    Lose weight
Does that sound like you?  This health tip will help you do both!  Let’s start with losing weight.  The first step you need to take is to find out where you stand right now.  The best way to do that is to calculate your Body Mass Index (BMI).  BMI is a number calculated from a person’s weight and height and is a good indicator of body fatness for most people.  Anyone with a BMI over 25 is considered overweight and anyone with a BMI over 30 would be considered obese.

What’s your number?
We will have BMI charts in the office this week so you can get your number.  You can also go to http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/  for a calculator.  Once you have your number, you’re looking at your future.   Will it be one of health and vitality or disease and pain? According to the Surgeon General:
•    Individuals who are obese (BMI > 30)* have a 50 to 100% increased risk of premature death from all causes, compared to those with a healthy weight.
•    For every 2-pound increase in weight, the risk of developing arthritis is increased by 9 to 13%.
•    If your BMI is over 30, your risk of heart disease is increased by 300%, colon cancer 200% and gall bladder disease by 400%.
•    Your risk of diabetes is 3 times higher if your BMI is over 25, 10 times higher if over 35!
•    If your number is over 25, your risk of heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, gall bladder disease, depression and sleep apnea goes up dramatically.

So what’s the answer?
If you don’t like the way your future looks after reading those facts, the good news is that you can change it!  Even a modest weight loss has dramatic effects.  The answer is the Maximized Living Makeover on January 19th.  The key to weight loss not dieting or starving yourself, it’s fixing your hormone problem.  Stop yo-yo dieting, diet pills and fad diets.  If you are serious about having a new body this new year, register for the Maximized Living Makeover today!  You’ll learn how to eat more and weigh less, how to turn your body into a fat burning machine in just 12 minutes a day and how to overcome the beliefs and habits that have caused you to fail in the past.  It’s a new year, so let us help you get a new number and a new you!  We will also be doing a 28 day Biggest Loser challenge with hands on support and accountability so that your chances of success go through the roof!
Of course the bigger resolution for people is saving money.  According to Fidelity Investments, if you retire today you would need $225,000 to cover being sick with the diseases we listed earlier.  By 2020, that number will exceed $400,000.  It’s simple, lose those extra pounds so you look and feel better, and while you’re at it, save a quarter million dollars.  Bring one person and you both save $40 or bring 2 people and your registration is FREE for the Makeover!
